ABOUT

Alexandru is a registered architect in Massachusetts and Ontario. His work is driven by curiosity, research, and iterative exploration, with a design process that investigates culture, tectonics, and geometry.

He holds a Master in Architecture with Distinction from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, where Alexandru completed his thesis on the polemics of drawing with the design of a multi-purpose gymnasium on the USA/Canada borderline. Prior to this, he completed his Bachelor of Architectural Studies with Distinction and Dean’s Honours List from the University of Waterloo School of Architecture, where he collaborated as a Research Associate on the “Evidence Room” exhibited in the Central Pavilion at the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale.

Alexandru engages the academic community as an educator. He has taught at Wentworth Institute of Technology and the Boston Architectural College, where he authored an Advanced Interdisciplinary Studio investigating material culture and typology through an investigation of architectural notation. Serving as a guest juror on studio reviews at institutions like the University of Toronto, and the University of Wisconsin, and the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, Alexandru actively facilitates the exchange of ideas and experiences between the professional and academic realms.
